We invite you to join us on Saturday, June 30, noon-2 p.m. for a rally to #EndFamilyDetention.
A few a weeks ago we received the news that nearly 1,000 immigrant people were being sent to the Victorville Federal Prison as a "temporary solution." It became clear that government officials were denying the immigrant detainees access to legal help, so we filed an emergency lawsuit. A federal judge quickly stepped in and ordered that detainees be allowed to see and talk to attorneys, but still — hundreds of people remain separated from their families.
The Inland Empire will not stand by the actions of the current administration. The people currently in Victorville have not had access pastoral care or permission to contact their family members. With ICE's track record of mistreatment, inadequate healthcare, and lack of transparency we cannot stand by idly! We demand that the BOP and ICE free them all to reunite with their families. Join us and stand boldly with our immigrant brothers and sisters.
