Change happens because of people like you. Join our people-powered movement for justice, equity and freedom.

The ACLU of SoCal has long defended the fundamental rights outlined in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These include the right to freedom of speech and assembly, the right to religious freedom, due process of law, equality before the law and the right to privacy. The ACLU of SoCal also relies on state constitutional provisions and federal and state laws that further these and similar rights.

We recognize that in our nation’s past, these rights have not been afforded to all communities. Black, Latine, Asian, LGBTQ, and Native American communities didn’t benefit from the U.S. Constitution like others have. Activism is the key component to ensuring that these rights are extended to everyone.
