Court Blocks DHS from Brutalizing People at SoCal Protests
In a win for free speech and free press, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction against the Department of Homeland Security from brutalizing journalists, legal observers and protesters in Southern California.
LOS ANGELES – The ACLU of Southern California commends LA District Attorney Jackie Lacey for adopting new policies that address the way that the DA’s office maintains and discloses evidence of misconduct by police officers and other governmental employees. The new policies will ensure that such evidence is disclosed to criminal defendants, as required by federal and state law.
