LOS ANGELES — The ACLU Foundation of Southern California Annual Luncheon will this year honor the powerful, dystopian series "The Handmaid's Tale" with its Social Responsibility in the Media Award. It will be accepted by series creator Bruce Miller and presented by executive producer Warren Littlefield, with several cast members on hand, including Samira Wiley, Max Minghella, Yvonne Strahovski, and Amanda Brugel.

Actor Bambadjan Bamba, who appeared in the film "Black Panther" and has a recurring role in the TV series "The Good Place," will receive the Courageous Advocate Award. He is a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient and has been a strong advocate for immigrants working in the entertainment industry.

Several law firms that partnered with the ACLU SoCal in the last year will also be honored at the event for their work and advocacy.
