Every second Tuesday, in an effort to mobilize and empower activists across the southland, the ACLU SoCal hosts We Keep Us Safe, a monthly virtual call for activists and organizers to discuss how community members can better keep each other safe.

Next month, we’ll be focusing on what it means for students to be safe at school in today’s political landscape. Specifically, on August 12 at 6pm PT, we’ll discuss how we can defend and advance California students’ freedom to learn and be themselves at school, the importance of an inclusive classroom, especially for LGBTQ+ students, and what it means when a school becomes a sanctuary school.
